Why the guest came to Rockholm
A 38-year-old male guest came to Rockholm after experiencing recurrent nasal blockage, sneezing, headaches and snoring that interfered with daily activities and sleep. He described these concerns as recurring episodes of sinus-related discomfort and hoped to explore a personalised Ayurveda programme for greater day-to-day comfort.
The Ayurvedic assessment
Following consultation, the Ayurveda team recorded a Kapha–Pitta Vikruthi (an imbalance involving the Kapha and Pitta doshas). This was the Ayurvedic assessment used to guide an individual programme; it should not be read as a medical diagnosis of the cause of his symptoms.
The personalised Ayurveda programme
Following consultation, the physician planned and monitored a combination of the following recorded approaches:
- Rookshana — drying or reducing therapies: Dhanyamladhara (pouring of a fermented medicinal liquid) and Podikizhi (herbal powder-bolus application)
- Snehana — oleation: physician-directed medicated ghee intake and Abhyanga (medicated-oil massage)
- Swedana — warming/sudation therapies: Elakizhi (herbal leaf-bolus application) and medicated steam inhalation
- Shodhana — physician-supervised cleansing procedures: Virechana (therapeutic purgation) and Nasyam (nasal administration of prescribed preparations)
- Other support — Lepam (external herbal paste application), prescribed internal medicines, yoga, meditation, and personalised food and lifestyle guidance
How the stay unfolded
The record notes that headaches and sneezing became more frequent during the first three days. From around the fourth day, the guest described gradual changes in comfort. By the latter part of the 14-night stay, he reported sleeping better and experiencing fewer headaches and episodes of sneezing.
What the guest reported by the end of the stay
At his final review, the guest said that breathing felt easier and that his sleep and concentration had improved. These are his reported observations, not independently measured outcomes.
A note from the Rockholm physician
This journey illustrates why changes in nasal symptoms and headaches during a stay should be discussed with the treating physician. The programme was monitored individually, and the guest was advised to continue the prescribed home-care and lifestyle guidance after departure.
